‘Game of Thrones’ Makers Working on Adaptation of ‘Three-Body Problem’
Netflix announced that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are working on the English adaptation of ‘The Three-Body Problems’. Benioff and Weiss are the makers of ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Three-Body Problems’ is a Chinese sic-fi novel series. The book is in three part series and is written by author, Liu Cixin. This the showmakers’ first project on Netflix since they signed the deal with the platform in 2019.
Benioff and Weiss says that Cixin’s book is the most ambitious science-fiction that they have ever read in their lives. The story takes us from the 1960s till the very end of time. It makes us look at the universe in a completely different light which is exciting and still scary.
The series was first published in 2008 in China and after its massive success, it was translated in English. Liu received plenty of critical acclaim for his work that included thorough research of history and great understanding of science.
Joining the powerful duo is Rian Johnson, the director of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ and ‘Knives Out’. Alexander Woo, writer of ‘True Blood’ will also co-write and executive produce the show. The most important names however remains, Liu Cixin himself along with his American translating author, Ken Liu.
