Katherine Narducci Says That She Wishes Her Character in ‘The Sopranos’ Was Different
‘The Sopranos’ first released back in 1999 and became one of the most popular shows. However, it had received backlashes from the very start. The show followed Italian-American groups and people did not like the way they were portrayed. They claimed that the series showed the Italian-Americans as born criminals.
However, if you have followed the show, you would know that claims are not true. There were all types of people in ‘The Sopranos’ and every character had their own backstory to fit into. So was the character of Katherine Narducci, who played the role f Charmaine Bucco. Charmaine is the wife of Artie Bucco (John Ventimiglia), the chef and owner of Vesuvio Restuarant.
Charmaine’s character is that of a morally correct woman who does not stand the mob. She does not like them and want nothing to do with them. Charmaine stick to that attribute from the very start and never changed in that regard. She was not someone who could be bought or scared off by the mob and she was never interested in their money.
So why Katherine wished that she could change anything about such a powerful character? It is because she wished that audience should have gotten the chance to see Charmaine’s softer side as well. She wished that her hatred towards the mob was explained better and her nagging could have been compensated with love.
