RuPaul Dedicates Emmy To ‘Drag Race’ Star Late Chi Chi DeVayne
RaPaul won an Emmy for the Outstanding Host for a reality competition program at Creative Arts Emmy 2020 on Saturday night. This marks RaPaul’s fifth win for hosting ‘RuPaul’s Deag Race’. RuPaul dedicated the award to ‘Drag Race’s’ star, Chi Chi DeVayne, who died in August at the mere age of 34.
RuPaul said that he’s dedicating the award to one of his girls, Chi Chi. He also appreciated LGBTQ+ community’s members for standing strong. He said that he only has love to give out to his LGBT brothers and sisters, Black queens, Brown queens, and the U.S.A.
People noticed that Chi Chi was honored in the In Memoriam segment in Creative Arts Emmy but not in Primetime Emmy Awards’ tribute. Fans were not very happy about the miss out and showed their disappointment on Twitter. A fan asked that who’s the who did not include Chi Chi in In Memoriam segment in Emmys?
RuPaul gave a heart touching acceptance speech. He said that he loves making television and told the young viewers that they are loved. Even though they might be going through a tough time but they should also believe in themselves and in the power of love.
